Myths and Legends

Where the Mist Kisses the Mountain: The Awakening of Our Memory. Welcome to a digital corner where time is not measured in hours, but in whispers of the wind and the roar of rivers. This is an invitation to immerse yourself in "Tales of the Deep Jungle," an anthology born from the heart of our Tenense identity to rescue the voices of our ancestors and the magic of our land. In the Amazon, reality and myth are not separate paths; they intertwine under the shade of ancient trees. Here, every stone has a story and every river is an absolute protagonist that holds secrets of centuries past. Through these publications, we will share the rich oral tradition of Tena and the Napo province, a territory forged by the force of nature and the resilience of its people.

What will you find on this journey? Throughout this series, you will discover stories that explain our world and our essence:

Eternal Loves: You will learn about the embrace of Pano and Tena, two young people whose love transformed into the crystalline currents that embrace our city today.

Wisdom and Humility: You will learn why the small Chiuta hill rose above the proud Sumaco to protect the simple of heart.

Sacrifice of Nature: You will understand the cry of the Dragon's Blood, that powerful sap born from the heart of a young woman who learned to heal the pain of others with her own life.

Resistance and Culture: We will virtually sit around the campfire at guayusa time, where the library of the jungle comes alive in the spoken word, teaching us to resist and to value our undiminished truth.

A library that This publication is not just a digital book; it is a tribute to the Indigenous worldview and a vibrant testament to our sacred connection with the rainforest. As tradition says, we don't need letters carved in stone when our history lives in the shared memory at dawn.

We invite you to stay tuned for our upcoming releases. Each story is a window into the heart of the rainforest, a reminder of who we are, and a gift from the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Heritage of the Municipal Government of Tena to the world.
